Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a modern, research-based approach that combines talking therapy with the power of hypnosis. Hypnosis is a very natural, relaxed state, encouraged by using guided relaxation techniquies, where the mind can relax and then focus on thoughts and suggestions that might be useful. By focusing on your preferred future rather than past problems, we work together to harness the neuroplasticity of your brain, creating new, positive neural pathways for lasting emotional wellness and mental clarity.

Free Discovery Call
The discovery call is a chance for us to get to know each other and decide whether solution focussed hypnotherapy is the right approach for you. We will talk a little about what you think I can help with and what your hopes for the future are. If we are both happy at the end of the call we will book you in for your Initial Consultation, this can be carried out either in person at my therapy space in Salisbury, Wiltshire or online via Microsoft Teams.
Initial Consultation
During the initial consultation I will gather a more detailed history about why you've come to see me and what outcomes you are hoping to achieve, together with relevant background information that will support the work we will be doing together. I will then explain the neuroscience of the brain which will help you to understand why you feel and behave the way you do and how hypnotherapy can help you to focus on your preferred future. I will provide you with my MP3 relaxation recording to listen to every night as you go to sleep. The importance of this will be explained during the session. Please note, there is no hypnotherapy during this session.
On going therapy sessions
From session 1 onwards all sessions will take the same format. The brain learns through repetition and subsequently builds new neural pathways, so we will always start by focussing on what has been good since our last session. We then move onto the solution focussed hypnotherapy part of the session, which combines talking therapy with the power of hypnosis. Solution focussed hypnotherapy incorporates psychological techniques such as Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), alongside hypnosis. We will work together to gently guide you to focus on your preferred future by identifying your own achievable goals, empowering you to resolve your issues by focusing on how you want your life to be rather than how you don't want it to be, focussing your mind on your preferred future and creating lasting positive change.
The Process - Overcoming Phobias
The process for overcoming a phobia is slightly different, it is a complete package of 4 sessions after the Discovery Call.
Free Discovery Call - To determine whether your phobia is what is known a simple phobia and would be appropriate for this package or a complex phobia which generally needs therapy on an individual basis as described above.
Session One - Initial Consultation, Information Gathering, Brain explanation in relation to your phobia and my MP3 recording to take home.

The Process - Smoking Cessasation
After a Discovery Call to determine your readiness to quit for good, this is a One-Off therapy session, which will consist of information gathering, an explanation of how the brain works and the neuroscience of smoking followed by a guided hypnotherapy stop smoking session. You will be given a copy of my MP3 recording to help support the work we have done during the session. Please note you will be asked to bring any of your smoking paraphernalia that you still have to the session (cigarettes, vapes, matches, lighters etc.).
